The Three Routes of Monsterrato 2018
Monserrato – Strade Bianche Monferrato (White Road) has three routes that wind through the UNESCO World Heritage Site hills and vineyards, the white routes used by cycling pioneers such as Giovanni Cuniolo, “The Red Devil” Givani Gerbi and Costante Girardengo.
KM 45* ABOUT: The novelty of 2018 edition is this route designed for the needs of those who ride historic bicycles. It is called short route, but the term must not deceive you: it requires a good physical condition. Cuniolo route has several areas of gravel road and many ups and downs. Registration for Cuniolo route cycling is reserved for members and non-members with a medical certificate for non-competitive sporting activity (currently valid).
KM 80* ABOUT: several areas of gravel white roads. Continuous ups and downs for an overall altimetry that exceeds 1000 meters. Gerbi Route requires very good athletic condition and be familiar with medium-long distances. Registration for Gerbi Route is reserved for members and non-members with a medical certificate for competitive sporting activity (currently valid).
KM 115 * ABOUT: do you feel the fascination of the challenge? Are you used to great fatigue?
Do you think your legs can handle 200 km? The Girardengo Route is the right one for you. But beware: challenges are not always won. The route has several areas of gravel road. In the final phase, the difficulty of climbing the peaks of Intersegna-Vignale is 18 % higher. Registration for the path Girardengo is reserved for members and non-members with a medical certificate for competitive sporting activity (current valid). (* Indicated length and respective height difference are currently indicative: considering the weather conditions and due to agricultural work, they could undergo important changes even at the last moment)
